I’ve yet to order a disappointing dish here. I visited Miyazaki Japanese Restaurant at Molito, Alabang on July 19 for lunch and found the food consistently well prepared, though the service can lag behind.
What I tried
Standouts for me include chicken karaage, chicken teriyaki, katsu curry, miso soup, tempura ice cream, sashimi, and sukiyaki. Each arrives reliably prepared and true to expectations.
Sashimi
The sashimi deserves special mention. Each slice is cut to roughly a centimetre thick — substantial enough to appreciate the texture without becoming difficult to eat. The seafood tasted remarkably fresh, with none of the fishiness that often betrays mediocre sashimi.
Sukiyaki
The standout, however, is the sukiyaki. For me, this remains one of the very few restaurants in Metro Manila that gets the balance exactly right. The broth isn’t overly sweet or overly salty, the portions are generous, and the presentation is beautiful.
Service and atmosphere
Service, unfortunately, is where the restaurant falls behind. Servers can be slow, not particularly welcoming, and often inattentive. House tea isn’t proactively offered, and water refills are easy to miss. The atmosphere is lively — the noise level was loud, but you can still talk.

Final takeaway
Thankfully, the quality of the food more than compensates for the average service. I keep coming back because the dishes — especially the sashimi and sukiyaki — consistently satisfy.
