We arrived at Aida’s Chicken House for lunch with high hopes, but the visit was marred by repeated operational failures and poor service. Below I describe the sequence of problems we encountered and how the experience unfolded.

The “Ordering” nightmare
Our ordering experience set the tone. We ran into multiple availability and communication problems before any food was even prepared:
- Signature Chicken Inasal: We were told you have to order their star dish a day in advance.
- Inasal wings: When we tried to switch to wings, the server discouraged us, warning it “takes too long.”
- Kangkong with chicken liver: Unavailable because they had run out of adobo sauce.
- Bulalo: We managed to place the order, only for the server to return about 10 minutes later to say they didn’t actually have any beef yet.
The compromised feast — and a long wait
After navigating those roadblocks we placed a compromised order: pecho inasal, spare ribs, sotanghon guisado, chicken sinigang (as a replacement for the bulalo), and batikolon with chicken liver. Despite that, nothing arrived in a timely manner.
By 11:33 AM — over an hour after we sat down at 10:30 AM — there was absolutely no food in sight. Other patrons who had arrived earlier were also staring at empty tables.
