If you are stopping at the Lakeshore Petron station in Pampanga, Lola Ima Pampanga Cuisine offers a mix of traditional Kapampangan flavours and familiar Filipino comfort food. This is not a menu where every dish landed equally well, but the standouts and the warmth of the service made the visit worthwhile.
The simple version of this review is: come for the ginataang kuhol and sinigang na kambing, add the paco salad, and set realistic expectations around the bistek and tamales.
The must-orders
Ginataang kuhol
The ginataang kuhol was absolutely superb. The snails were cooked properly, while the coconut-cream sauce was rich, savoury, and full of flavour. It is the dish I would point a first-time visitor toward immediately, especially anyone who enjoys traditional Filipino flavours with depth and richness.
Sinigang na kambing
The sinigang na kambing was the standout of the meal. The goat meat was notably tender, and the vegetables were fresh. What made it memorable was the broth: it tasted built on real, fresh tamarind rather than the flatter character of instant powder. That gave the soup the sharp, authentic sourness I look for in a satisfying sinigang.
